As Summer Passes – The Witches of Barkmouth Reflect

I, Lucy Skylark…

And I, Olive Framley…

…acknowledge the season’s passing and take a moment to reflect and be thankful.

We have learned, made friends, made mistakes, grown in our power and worked hard to become the best witches we can be.

I have learned that the most frightening of
hauntings is less scary than an angry
mob and ignorance

I have learned that failure is temporary when you take the time to wait, and the time to see

I have learned that mistakes can lead to
new friends and opportunities

I have learned that compassion can work more wonders than confrontation

I have learned not to judge on
appearances but to find out more

I have learned that it isn’t so bad to be young and inexperienced for now

I am thankful for old friends and new

I am thankful for time and the chance to make a difference

I am thankful for the moments,
the chance to play, to find joy

I am thankful for loyalty and the undemanding kindness of others

And going ahead, I resolve to be
open to change, to accept help,
and to keep using my powers for good

And going ahead, I resolve to be disciplined, humble, but bold in speaking the truth

And as autumn comes and the seasons change

As the last of summer is shed and the world changes around us

We acknowledge our own growth and change

And we step into the future with kindness, confidence and courage

To be the witches that our world, our family and friends, and ourselves need us to be.
